Marc was kind enough to write up a guide providing insight to how he do'ed it. Enjoy! All righty my fine feathered friends, here is the super extreme (and by extreme I mean extremely boring) guide to getting to level 70 in under 2 days played. Incidentally, 10 to 37 was in one day and 64 to 70 was in one night.
Levels 1-10:These levels can be done a variety of ways I presume, I chose to have a couple of 70s follow me around, one was a hunter for aspect of the run fast. Forget all that slow walking. Basically you just have the 70s kill everything and you power quest. 1-10 took a couple hours I think. I don't really remember if it was that long or not. Might have been an hour total.
Levels 10-15:Deadmines - get your friendly neighborhood mage to run you thru the deadmines. The mage I had helping me was pro. We completed the entire instance including the walk back in under 8 minutes. These levels took about 25-35 minutes apiece. Some were faster than others, I died a couple times when I was one shot-able.
Levels 15-20:Grab your friendly neighborhood warlock and head to the Stockades; for horde I am not sure what instance is equilvilent. These levels are where the trickery comes in. Due to WoW game mechanics you can have the 70 warlock dot the mobs and - as they die - the 70 zones out of the instance, leaving only the low level in the instance. When the mobs die and the 70 is out of the instance, all exp is awarded to the lowbie. It's as if the lowbie had killed the mob solo.
Levels 20-40: Be ready for some extremely boring times ahead! You'll never want to set foot in the SM Cathedral ever again. Once again, you grab your local neighborhood warlock, a mage, and a priest. Have the mage pull the mobs to the instance entrance and get to dot'n. Once again have all members of the party zone out and leave the lowbie alone as the mobs die. This takes a bit of practice but once you get it down you should be having 12-15 minute levels until 38. 38, 39, and 40 take a bit longer because the exp really drops down.
Levels 41-50:Grab your level'n crew and head to ZF. Again, it's a good idea to have the power trio you have used up to this point. If you want to throw in a second lock or priest you can. Just have the mage pull
while mounted, bringing the mobs to the door again. Dot like not other and zone out. 30-45 min levels.
Levels 50-55:Head to Dire Maul, only thing that's different is you need two healers for sure for these mobs. I used two warlocks and two priests for all of Dire Maul. 35-50 min levels. Same concept dot and zone. You should have it down by now if you have made it this far.
Levels 55-65:Finally you are down with the dotting. Grab a healer and any DPS class you want and head to the Slave Pens. This is where the drop group method is used. You drop group, tag the mobs, have the other dps kill them, then get re-invited before you get ported. Rinse wash and repeat over and over again. Levels 55-60 take about 15 minutes a piece. 60-63 about 30 64-65 about 45.
Levels 65-70Grab the same DPS drop group level'n crew and head to the Mana Tombs, when we got here we were really pushing for under two days played so we went all out. Levels 65-68 were about 35-40 minutes a piece. Keeping in mind we had some T6 dps'ers that were fully raid buffed and flasked. 68-70 should take around an hour a level if you push it.
In conclusion, none of this is possible without a lot of help from my friends and guildies. They are the ones that deserve the credit for the powerleveling, not me. I was basically AFK most of the time while they did all the work. We could have shaved I'd say 6-10 hours off my time easily maybe more. We messed around a lot and afk'd and tested the right instances. It's super boring, but it's usually boring to level anyway so you might as well get it over as fast as possible.
