The GM's Other Blog and Weekend Plans

When this blogsite was first created, it was to document the exploits—and (let's be honest here) abuses—of Frequently Reported. For anyone with some weird, deeper interest in my day-to-day (which, lately has only been WotLK), feel free to point your browsers to my other blog: An Exercise in Futility.

We'll try to get some people attuned to Molten Core over the weekend. It may prove to be a bit difficult with members' schedules conflicting, so we'll play it by ear. The guild calendar has both attunement runs and a ZG mount run (Tiger and Bloodlord) penciled-in, but don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work out "on time" Saturday.

There is always Sunday, right?

Let's Gear Up!

Reaching level 80 is only the beginning of the real adventure, I think. Wednesday was spent mostly grinding the materials to fabricate The Swiftarrow Armor items and Jormungar Leg Reinforcements, as well as spending a paltry 300 gold to acquire two Savage Cobalt Slicers.

Thursday I hope to secure the high-end enchants on my new lewt, pick up the reputation tabards and help Liz level her "reborn" warlock, Sairendipiti. We all need to pull together and continue to take care of one another with armor, patches, enchants, etc., as we all begin to take out fist steps into Heroics and level 80 content.

Oh... and a big "welcome back", Sebastian!

Raiding Frequently Reported Style

Over the weekend, we smoked both Onyxia's Lair (twice!) and Zul'Gurub, with everyone having a ball and receiving achievements. As an accomplished pre-BC raider back on Akama, I've taken for granted the fullness of the storytelling that World of Warcraft used to be.

For those of you wanting to hit the old school raids, including Molten Core and Blackwing Lair, have no fear—it is in the works. But I need you to do some work before we roll in. Despite the fact the Blizzard nerfed attunement to Ony, a player still has to be attuned to MC. Now, "back in the day", this involved rolling with a group for the sake of simplicity and survival. However, one can probably solo it, now.

"So how does one get attuned to Molten Core," you're asking? Point your browser here for a complete walk-thru.

Blackwing Lair doesn't require an attunement, per se, but there is the issue of having to delve deep into UBRS in order to access the raid warp. Unless...

Unless you're leetsauce and do the quest for the BWL shortcut and obtain the Mark of Drakkisath. For more information, just go here and read.

Incidentally, I would love to head to Silithus some time and roll through Ahn'Qiraj - both the 20 person and the 40 person raids. I strongly recommend reading up on all the Classic Raids and being prepared to have some fun in the next few weeks!

Guild Rank Fine Tuning

There was some confusion on my part of what toons belong to what people, and as soon as maintenance is complete I'll get things straightened out.

My sincerest apologies to Jake and JJ for not promoting their main characters to Founder status.

A Much Needed Update

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year... belated.

No posts since before the New Year?! What gives? To be honest, "a lot" is as close as I can come to summerizing life the past few days. Besides picking up some notable achievements, including, World Explorer and Leading the Calvary, I did finally reach level 80 with Radd. Now, the real fun starts with some research on gear and the level 80/Heroic instances! For those curious, you can check Radd's profile for a complete list of the achievements I accomplished in my short time back.

On the guild-front, Liz rejoined Frequently Reported as Standswafist, and has brought a much needed additional (and fun) persona to the mix, as well as a full stable of toons. Not only does she kick ass playing, but she's a great person, too.

We also saw Nick come back aboard playing Lulerskates with some regularity, as well as induct Thai who some may remember as the MeatLife name behind the toon Vator who was leveling with us quite often in Burning Crusade.

This weekend, I'm driving down to St. Louis to hang out with Marc and meet his new love-interest, Hannah. In between beers and hanging out with good friends, I'll try to pop on to say hi to everyone.

Plans now entail getting my sleep schedule back to school-mode since classes start back up next Monday on the 12th at 8:00 AM. I got a seak peek at book-costs, and it doesn't look to be that bad this semester at only $200. I'm really stoked about the classes I have this go-around, with some level II classes that should start building up my portfolio. My time in-game will be diminished since college has to be my first priority, but I decided to keep renewing my account past January 12 so I can keep in contact with everyone.
