Raiding, PUGing and a Clarification on Participation

Author's Note: Ah, the joys of insomnia. I hope this article sheds some light and provides some hope for those of you feeling under-geared. At the very least, it provided me with something to do until I could fall back asleep.  - Radd

As our ranks grow, and people gain focus on what they wish to accomplish after earning the required 10,170,700 experience points to attain level 70, it is time to announce the position of Frequently Reported and PUG raiding.

Which is to say, we don't have any rules prohibiting you from doing so, at least at the moment. If you wish, and you can secure yourself a spot in a raid, you have the full blessings of both the Founders and me as the GM. As a matter of fact, I have been to Karazhan, Gruul's Lair and The Eye - retained as a source of DPS (cannon fodder?) for some friendly guilds.

To clearly state, once again, our goal as a guild is to have fun. If you wish to define that as raiding, please do so at every opportunity and good luck on earning some purple drops!

As a source of information, the following links will direct you to Wowwiki entries for the raid-level instances in Burning Crusade. Each entry details attunement, location, strategy and loot tables. I highly recommend studying these at length, as to avoid appearing like a complete nub and suffering embarrassment:
Now keep in mind, even for the "low level raids" like Kara, ZA and Gruul's, you have to have - at a minimum - Heroic Dungeon gear or something similar. In all likelihood, if you are geared in low level blues and greens, you won't perform up to snuff and probably will spend most of the instance dead. This almost guarantees no return trip with the group you managed to PUG with.

Also worth mentioning, and as a warning: Many guilds who take PUGs into raids do not distribute loot to the temporary, out-of-guild additions. I recommend asking beforehand what the loot system is, as well as the odds of you earning a much-desired drop. You should browse the loot tables and make a note of items you really want, then place them in order of desirability.

So, be sure to keep running those Heroics (and earning a Badge of Justice from every boss killed, which are used to purchase some really nice items), grinding away Battlegrounds for your S1 Welfares, or Arenas for S2 and S3 Gladiator gear.

One last thing of note: Karazhan and Zul'Aman instances also reward raid members with one to three Badges of Justice per boss completed. Ielle and I recently ran with Kevster, a tank we know from leveling, who earned 22 Badges on a full Kara run.

    Happy Monday everybody,

I talked to James (Feelinice) today. He has been Frequently Reported afk for over a month now due to his joining a new guild on Skullcrusher and is now on Illidan and outfitted in T6. Poor him. But I like our laid back fun. We've had the stressful wipe after wipe and I'm good right now just hangin out and chill. LOLZ. And. Stuff. Z.O.M.G. PERIOD.

Hi, my name is Nick and I'm a raid addict.

    -Hello Nick

I've been raid free for over a year now but I still yearn for it day after day.

I miss the days of raiding.

    Meh
that was my attempt at a dialogue from a WoW self help group.

    needs some work.

    gah brb taking #2

kk so this week (because it changes every week) I'm thinking when I get out of here I'll level the pally to 70. and then rock out on him til he has around 1500 healing and 100mp5 with ~20% holy crit.

then I'll start a druid and level him up like a madman.

cause then we'll have 2 awesome hybrid characters.

im thinking a 41/20/0 for the pally and an 11/11/39 for the druid

    -Polo

gonna link to a movie that inspired the 11/11/39 build.

    thats all for now

I have 1509 healing and 20.63% chance to crit right now...still not happy with it tho. Im not hitting heals like I used to with my other Ielle. Maybe because I was more raid spec'd than now I am survivadin right now. Meh anyway I still have 2 more upgrades I am looking forward to as well at 4 more upcoming enchants that should boost my healing at least another 140-200. Then I might start seeing those 7K-8K more often.

this is my last week working here.
    the 6 weeks went fast.

Today is my 185th day as a Job Corps Student Employee.

I have to reach 300 to be eligible for completion.

After this week I will have met all of the other graduation criteria.....too bad I did it 100 days too fast....lol.

I'm thinking I will either A. Take some college classes or B. Finish my HSD until day 300 arrives.

And I'll definitely be taking my A+ before I leave.

    Have an outstanding day.

PSST your holy crit was 25% last I checked Ielle
